My Collection
(Elmwood)
These specimens all came from the Elmwood Mine in Smith County, Tennessee. Elmwood is justifiably famous for producing spectacular crystal specimens combining Calcite, Fluorite, Barite, Sphalerite, and other minerals. At present the Elmwood mine is closed, although a new owner plans to re-open the mine for Zinc ore mining – it is unclear if any specimen mining will ever resume… All of the specimens on this page were acquired in the 1990’s and early 2000’s from local dealers and collectors.
